Along with Day 1, which is Renewal of your prayer life, try your best to keep Day 1 going. It will change your life.
Day 2 is “Personal Rediscovery of the God-Breathed Word”
Our relationship with God is personal, everyone is on their own journey; exactly how God wants it… “Personal!!!”
“Self-revelation” is the most effective way for thorough furnished application of the Bible. Honestly speaking, it comes by studying His word in His presence (Activated by Day 1). I do read the Bible as a story at times to get an understanding and context of the history, but when sitting at His feet is when “self-revelation” comes, that’s how God communicate back to us, speaking to us through His word.
For me, personally, there is very few things as mind blowing as coming across a revelation in my intimate time with God; times when God show me things in His word, and the Holy Spirit make me understand it in my level of thought and understanding, it hits straight to the heart, and application thereof comes easier, almost natural, because I understand what the Holy Spirit is telling me and why He is showing it to me; applying it to my life is then effective and productive.
I mentioned “Application” a few times here; and that for me is the key… knowledge without application is a waste of knowledge. I find that if I implement revelation in my life that I very seldom forget it; how can you forget how to walk? I can’t, because it is implemented and applied as a necessity and a requirement for me to move from point A to point B. Exactly the same with the word of God, the knowledge of revelation and application thereof is a necessity to my being.
Since the beginning of the year, I prayed Ephesians 1:17-19 as often as I can.
‘ [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength,’
It is a prayer of understanding God more and more, opening my eyes and heart of understanding the depth of His Glory and Majesty; and HALLELUJAH, God is hearing my prayer and plea. This is as much as I pray for myself, just to get to know Him more and more.
At times I get revelations that I cannot find words to utter the meaning of it, and the Holy Spirit reminds me… “It is Personal, it is for you, if you can’t find the words to explain it, it is because it is for you alone, in your current season, apply it in your life…”
The Bible is God’s living word, and I can vouch for it… The Holy Spirit is taking me back to scriptures I had in my past; at first, I will quote it, and “I know, I know…” but wait, there is more; meditating on it, and asking the Holy Spirit to open it up brings more revelation, relevant to my current season. It comes alive in every different season, feeding your soul for your current situation.
Spending time in God’s word is my life saver… I cannot go without.
Seek His presence, open His word and get saturated.
‘ Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action), So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.’
